A headline price is a place to begin asking questions. Ask for a written estimate that names the visit, the medicine and any continuing service charge separately. Keep the period covered by each figure beside it. A monthly label is not enough if the terms do not say what that period includes.
Compare the same planned product and the same period of care. Ask what happens after an introductory offer, what continues automatically and which costs are still unknown. Include the same items in each request, so the quotes cover the same parts of care.
C
Cash price
An amount paid outside an insurance claim.
The September 26, 2026 pricing record separated cash payment, list prices, discount cards, insured copays and government-program payments.(a)
Name the price type first, then compare it with the figure on the other page. Keep any eligibility terms with the price rather than copying only the largest number. If the product or form differs, mark that difference in the comparison. Ask whether the quoted medicine amount includes the visit or whether those are separate estimates.
L
List price
The published wholesale acquisition cost, rather than a personal bill.
On September 26, 2026, the government price portal showed semaglutide (Wegovy) at an original price of $1,349.02, labeled as its wholesale acquisition cost.(b)
That price type was distinct from a cash offer or an insured copay.(a)
Use the example to identify the label, not to predict what a Houston visit will cost. Ask for the actual planned product and payment route. A published reference figure and an estimate for your situation need to be read as different items.
M
Membership
A recurring service charge to ask about separately from medicine.
Ask whether the planned arrangement uses visits, a membership or another payment structure. Request the full terms in writing. Include questions about when charges begin, what continues and how an arrangement ends. Ask which questions the service fee covers and whether another charge applies to a later discussion.
Ask for the end terms before accepting a recurring charge. Put the answers beside the medicine quote so a low figure for one part does not become the assumed total.
P
Promotion
A price offer with terms that may limit who receives it or how long it applies.
GLP-1 names a natural hormone; semaglutide is among the medicines that copy its action.(c)
The pricing terms checked September 26, 2026 included several GLP-1 offers ending December 31, 2026; that date did not predict what the later price would be.(d)
Ask for the amount after the offer period and the conditions attached to each price. If a later amount is not stated, leave it marked as unknown. An unanswered cost belongs in the estimate before you finish comparing the quotes.
Compare the whole bill
Request the planned visit charge, medicine charge and any recurring service charge separately.
Ask what tests, shipping or later discussions would add, if anything.
Keep the product, form, quantity supplied and period beside each quoted amount.
Write down any commitment, cancellation terms and price that remains unknown.
