Houston Peptide Clinic

Houston vocabulary, from Texas law to the exam room. Sees no patients.

Houston in a search phrase gives the talk a place. It does not name the clinician (the doctor or other health professional), identify the medicine or settle the rules for either. Start with the people involved. Then separate the rules for a visit from the rules for making or sending a medicine.

Write down the full names of the people and the pharmacy being considered. Keep those records apart from the medicine’s product record. Use the public board names below to ask which license applies to each person’s role.

D

Delegated prescribing

A doctor gives another qualified professional authority to prescribe within an agreement.

As of September 26, 2026, a Texas doctor could give a nurse practitioner or physician assistant permission to write prescriptions through a signed, written agreement. That document is called a prescriptive authority agreement.(a)

Texas also requires a physician assistant’s supervision to be continuous, although the supervising doctor need not be physically present.(a)

Ask who is involved in the arrangement and who handles a question that needs the doctor’s input. A professional title is the beginning of that talk, rather than the full description of how care is organized.

L

License board

The public body responsible for a professional license.

The Texas Medical Board’s search includes physicians and physician assistants; the Texas Board of Nursing handles nurse licenses.(b)(c)

Pharmacy and pharmacist checks belong with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.(d)

Use the full name the person or pharmacy provides. Ask for a license number if the name is hard to distinguish. Keep the result with the details of the planned visit. A record for a person and a record for the dispensing pharmacy answer different questions.

S

Standard of care

The level of care required for the service being provided.

As of September 26, 2026, Texas applied the in-person standard to the same service delivered through telehealth.(e)

Texas required informed consent before telemedicine or telehealth services were provided.(e)

Consent means agreement after the planned service has been discussed. Ask what the visit can address, what remains open and how the next step will be chosen. If the language feels rushed, ask for it again in shorter terms before making a decision.

T

Texas telemedicine relationship

The care relationship that a remote visit needs to establish.

For a new care relationship, Texas law checked September 26, 2026 allowed a live video visit or later review of relevant photos, video images or health records. Those records could include your medical history, test results or past prescriptions. The professional still had to have enough relevant information to meet the required level of care.(e)

On this reading, a phone call alone does not meet that first-visit rule. Separate parts of Texas law can allow phone contact with a professional who already treats you, or with someone answering under an agreement to cover another professional’s calls.(e)

Ask how the visit will take place and what material the clinician will review. Do not treat the label “online” as a description of every step. Ask what happens if the clinician cannot finish the assessment remotely.

Keep the state question specific

  • Which Texas license record matches the person who would assess care?
  • If prescribing authority is delegated, who is the supervising doctor?
  • What details will the clinician review before discussing a prescription?
  • Where will consent, the visit summary and the follow-up plan be recorded?
